Staff & Coaching tips
Is it me or whenever you start a new game, you check your coaches, some of them are terrible and on long contracts, so would cost you a fortune to sack? Your board give you a limit on the number of coaches you're allowed to have & you're assistant manager is useless.
Here's what I do.
I check Youth Team Training>Coaches, they're all pretty much ticked as coaching everything, making your star rating's shite. Untick them all (except for GK & Fitness specific coaches), then go down the list seeing whose best at what and tick one box for each of your coaches, on their best attribute until you finally have at least one coach per training type. You should notice the star ratings are better than before, as the coaches are concentrating on what they're best at. There's really no need to have more than one coach per training type, it's just a case of picking the best combination possible. If you're at a small club, you may not be allowed to have that many coaches that you can have one per type, so much of your coaches may have to be used to do two types each, try different combinations to see whose best doing what.
After doing that, you will notice than some of those guys may only be Youth Coaches, which means you have even less coaches for your first team. Sign the good ones up as Coaches, not youth, not first team, just coaches, so that can do both sets of players.
Some of the shit ones may be on huge deals & you don't want them to be, offer them a new contract, a little more money but for a shorter term, at least then you can be rid of them in a season or two.
Your assistant manager can be used as a coach too, so when looking for an assitant manager it may be good to look for a specific coaching aspect which you're short of at the time. I prefer my assistant to have good scouting abilities, as when you go to offer a player a contract, he tells you what he thinks of him & if you haven't the time to scout him, it helps. Also, motivation & man management are skills I find I need, as occasionally I ask assistance on team talks.
Also, what I do is I leave it on General Training, but nudge the bar to the right a little bit, so it's still on medium training but one more nudge & it'd be on hard.
Any tips for us? Stick em in this thread.
Cheers,
Mayz

Re: Staff & Coaching tips
Wow a great load of advice there should help out a bit but with the training when the player plays bad i put there trainnig up to hard to make them get better so they try to get a bit better and always keep the training on medium to get them working hard!
